A little introduction…

Hi all, I’m Yasu’s English wife, British is also fine but if we want to be particular I am English. I was born in England and have lived in England so I am English. My husband has given me freedom to create my own articles on his blog which may help you from a British perspective and also from a woman’s, which he obviously could not advise on. So a little bit about me first….

I was born in London and have lived in a county outside of London for most of my lift. I work in the digital and legal solutions sector and am very lucky to be home based, with the occasional trip to the office in central London once a month.

in our current hometown we have very good links to the city, and is an deal place if you prefer a more countryside setting but still be able to hop on a train and be in one of the most historic cities in the world in less than 30 minutes. I’m close to a local shopping centre where I can access many stores for all my needs but also walk not far from my home and see open countryside and small woodlands. It’s a lovely place to call home.

I came to know Yasu via a language exchange website, with myself learning Japanese and he learning English. A friendship, passion to learn another language and culture blossomed into two trips to Japan, a long distance relationship then leading to a long visa process. Covid then threw some rather large obstacles in our way but after researching properly we could successfully complete the visa process without legal assistance and he could come and be with me in the here.

I would like to add Yasu’s English has only improved since meeting me yet I feel my Japanese is still like a baby. Perhaps I am a better teacher than I thought????………. Doubtful, Yasu has to keep listening to my English conversation as I can’t hold a conversation in Japanese! I guess forced learning is the best haha! Anyway I am very determined to learn Japanese so I will keep doing my best!

My blogs will mostly be about life in the UK, so I hope you enjoy the little snippets I add! The UK is a lovely place, it is filled with culture, history and beauty and I really want to help you enjoy your time in the here through these blogs.
